Lotus introduced the modernized Evora

The British Lotus is slowly waking up to life after protracted financial and personnel problems. After a break, it even returns to the spotlight of the Geneva Motor Show, where it will show the significantly modernized Evora 400 , the fastest and most powerful Lotus ever.

The supercharged six-cylinder engine under the hood of the Evora has a new 406 hp and 400 Nm, which, in conjunction with the improved manual (with Torsen self-locking differential supplied as standard) or automatic six-wheel drive, is enough to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds and reach a maximum speed of 300 km /h. Lotus owes the higher performance of the Toyota power unit not only to a larger compressor, but also to an improved intercooler, a remapped control unit and a new exhaust pipe. The automaker itself states that the test track in Hethel will pass the Evora 400 six seconds faster than its predecessor!

This is not only due to the more powerful engine, but also to the 22 kilogram lower weight of the car. The main contribution to this diet is the 6 kg lighter front and 3.4 kg lighter rear seats. This brings us to the interior, which offers, in addition to lighter and more comfortable seats, a completely new dashboard with a redesigned center console (which includes the standard display of the multimedia system) and a more legible instrument panel. The steering wheel is partly made of magnesium and has a red seam to mark its ideal position. Thanks to 43 mm narrower and 56 mm lower door thresholds, the British coupe will be much easier to get into.

The design of the body also underwent a significant change. New is the front bumper with standard LED daytime running lights and larger air intakes, as well as the rear bumper with a central tailpipe or diffuser. Thanks to them, the total length has increased by 30 mm . In the rear, there is also a three-part rear wing and intake holes in the fenders. It is not without interest that the aerodynamic resistance of the body increased to cx = 0.35. The overall impression is completed by light 19-inch wheels at the front and 20-inch wheels at the rear, shod in Michelin Pilot Suer Sport tires.

Sales of the modernized Evora will be launched by Lotus in August this year , the price should be about 10 percent higher than the current version.
