Lincoln introduced the production version of the MKX crossover

The third-generation Lincoln MKX made its debut in concept form at the Beijing Auto Show last year, becoming the brand's first-ever concept outside of the United States. However, the serial form presented itself on the old familiar ground of Detroit.

Thanks to the independent suspension of the rear wheels, modified construction of the body and chassis and adaptive steering, it is supposed to be the best-handling and at the same time the quietest MKX model in the history of Lincoln. The power units certainly also have their share in this – a twin-turbo six-cylinder 2.7 EcoBoost with an output of more than 335 hp with a torque of more than 501 Nm and an atmospheric 3.7-liter six-cylinder with an output of 303 hp with a torque of 379 Nm. Both units cooperate with a six-speed automatic with the possibility of shifting paddles under the steering wheel and can be given all-wheel drive upon request. The Lincoln Drive Control system, which adjusts the operating characteristics of the vehicle, will also be available for an additional fee, with Normal, Sport and Comfort modes.

Visually, the MKX fits right into the family of contemporary Lincolns, offering a wing-style grille , 35 mph cruise-sensing LED headlights, and full- width taillights. Chrome and plastic trim were definitely not spared either. The interior is upholstered in leather and lined with wooden decors, as part of connectivity, the MKX will offer a multimedia system or the MyLincoln Mobile application, through which the driver can open, lock or start the car using a smartphone. Standard equipment will be Revel audio with 13 speakers, but their number can be increased to 19 thanks to extra charges! And you will also have to reach for additional equipment for 22-way adjustable front seats.

Safety will be taken care of by adaptive cruise control, lane departure monitoring, blind spot monitoring, monitoring of the space behind the car and a collision warning assistant , which can warn the driver or even stop the car if the threat of an accident is detected. The Auto Hold function, which can hold the brake pedal, will save a lot of nerves in traffic jams, while the 360-degree camera and parking assistant will come in handy when parking.
