Lexus will try to impress with the new RC coupe

Lexus will present a new coupe at the Tokyo Motor Show, which is heading into territory that until now has been mainly dominated by German automakers . The RC coupe will thus have to face the Audi A5 or the BMW 4 series .

The design is based on the curves already known from the IS sedan or the LF-LC and LF-CC concepts. The most important element is the triangular headlights in conjunction with the L-shaped dipped headlights. The large radiator grille and the design of the rear lights are also based on the IS sedan. Right from the start of production, there will be a choice of eighteen- or nineteen-inch wheels.

For the first time in a Lexus model, the interior will be equipped with illumination of the entire cabin in the direction from bottom to top , instead of the usual top to bottom. At the top of the center console we find a seven-inch display of the multimedia system, which will be controlled by the new Remote Touch controller. There is no shortage of first-class materials such as leather or wood.

In Tokyo, Lexus will show two engine variants – the RC 350 with a 3.5-liter six-cylinder gasoline engine and the RC 300h with a 2.5-liter gasoline engine that will be supported by an electric motor. Both models have a length of 4695 mm , a width of 1840 mm, a height of 1395 mm and a wheelbase of 2730 mm.
