The NX is the first representative of the Lexus brand in the mid-size SUV segment. With its sharply defined design full of emotions, it is especially aimed at completely new customers. The pioneering model, bringing striking design elements and top technologies, will set new standards for future models of the brand.
The Lexus NX was designed to look like it was cast from a single piece of metal. Beneath its strikingly flared wheel arches are 17" or 18" wheels, with which the car acquires its crouched, athletic stance. Of the sharply cut parts, the characteristic Lexus radiator grille in the shape of a spindle is the most striking, the ferocity of which is underlined by advanced LED headlights and daytime running lights. When viewed from the side, the typical Lexus silhouette is immediately apparent, thanks to the shift of the roofline towards the rear of the car for maximum optical effect. The rear is highlighted by the characteristic 'L' shaped lights, again using LED technology .
The dynamic capabilities of the NX are underlined by a sporty steering wheel with a thick ring, while contrasting decors also contribute to the attractive design of the cabin. When designing the cabin, emphasis was placed on the overall interior space and seating arrangement . The interior design of Lexus vehicles relies on intuitive collaboration with controls, instruments and human-machine interface (HMI) technologies. NX is another Lexus car that applies the division into two separate zones, i.e. the display zone and the control zone.
The Lexus NX represents a highly economical hybrid drive combining a gasoline engine and an electric motor ( NX 300h version), as well as the first turbocharged 2.0 l gasoline engine ( NX 200t version), or atmospheric gasoline engine in the NX 200 model. For all engines, it will be possible to choose between all-wheel drive or driven front axle.
The NX also brings a whole range of advanced on-board technologies, such as a compartment for wireless charging of mobile devices (a first for the Lexus brand), a new design of the combined Remote Touch controller with touch controls, a panoramic view of the situation around the vehicle (Panoramic View Monitor) and a comprehensive multi-function display . including a lateral acceleration sensor (new for Lexus) and fuel pressure indicator (NX 200t), a head-up display with a projection on the windshield, a system for monitoring blind spots and an RCTA system that warns of passing vehicles while reversing.
