The new small coupe, replacing the 1 Series Coupé , will be 4,432 mm long, 1,774 mm wide and 1,418 mm high. The wheelbase has a value of 2690 mm, the trunk has a volume of 390 liters. However, these values only apply to the 220i and 220d models. The sports version of the M235i will be slightly larger – it is 4454 mm long , 1774 mm wide and 1408 mm high. However, the trunk and wheelbase remain the same.
The basic gasoline variant will be the 220i model with a four-cylinder engine with a volume equal to two liters and an output of 183 horsepower . Maximum torque of 270 Nm will be available between 1250 – 4500 rpm. If you choose a model with a six-speed manual , you will accelerate to 100 km/h in 7 seconds, the maximum speed will be 235 km/h and the consumption will be 6.1 l/100 km. The model with the eight-speed automatic will be 5 km/h slower, but also 0.4 l/100 km more economical. The acceleration then does not change. The base price in South Africa was set at 366,257 rand (approx. 694,000 CZK).
The basic diesel will be the 220d version with a two-liter four-cylinder engine with an output of 183 horsepower. The maximum torque of 380 Nm will be available between 1750 – 2750 rpm and again a manual and automatic version will be available. While the manual accelerates to 100 km/h in 7.2 s, will have a top speed of 230 km/h and consumes 4.5 l/100 km, the automatic will be 0.1 s faster and 0.3 l/100 km more economical. The base price was set at 393,000 rand (approx. 745,000 CZK).
The most sporty variant will certainly be the M235i model with a three-liter six-cylinder engine under the hood and an output of 326 horsepower. The maximum torque of 450 Nm will be available from 1300 rpm up to 4500 rpm. Again, a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic will be available, with the former M235i accelerating to 100 km/h in 5 seconds, hitting a top speed of 250 km/h and consuming 8.1 l/100 km. The automatic will be 0.2 seconds faster and 0.5 l/100 km more economical. The base price is set at 503,079 rand (approx. 953,000 CZK).
