Land Rover plans to produce a small SUV

John Edwards, CEO of the Land Rover brand, issued the latest press statement in which he says that the British off-road vehicle manufacturer is considering the production of a small SUV in the future. It should be a smaller sibling of the current Evoque model.

Furthermore, in an interview with Autocar magazine, Edwards stated: "I see a future vision of a compact SUV that would be available in all important world markets and therefore I see no reason why we should delay this idea unnecessarily". If approved, Land Rover's small SUV should be around 30 centimeters shorter than its sister model, the Range Rover Evoque . This means that its length will not exceed 4 meters. According to some unofficial sources, the future representative of the brand could use a new chassis platform, which will be developed by Tata Motors and Chery.

If the car makes it to final production, its estimated price would start at £18,000, which is approximately CZK 500,000. This would make the new small SUV more affordable to a wider range of potential customers.
