An off-road legend, an indestructible machine, it will go everywhere… Such phrases usually come to mind when the Lada Niva is mentioned ( nowadays only Lada 4×4 ). This undoubtedly iconic machine has been with us since 1977 , and it's certainly not about to enter automotive retirement just yet.
It will roll off the production lines for at least another four years. For now, 2016 is marked as the final year . How did Niva earn a career extension? Great sales, because from 2002 to 2012, 370,000 small SUVs were sold domestically and another 150,000 were exported abroad.
With such volumes, it's no wonder that a piece with serial number two million will leave the factory in Togliatti already this month! By the end of the year, Lada plans to produce another 50,000 cars and even a minor modernization.
This will mainly consist in increasing comfort . Lada wants to focus on noise reduction of the chassis and aerodynamic noise . Off-road lovers will get a modified 4×4 drive, while aesthetes will get a modified dashboard. All these groups will certainly be happy for the unspecified expansion of the equipment and also the new body colors.
The legendary car lives on and you can buy it in the Czech Republic. Prices currently start at CZK 237,900 including VAT .
