KM Racing with the car LIAZ 111.154 survived the tough race

The same program as on Saturday awaited the final day for the weekend Baja Aragon crew Martin Macík jnójri, Marian Orlický and Jakub First and their LIAZ 111.154 . However, in the vicinity of the Spanish city of Teruel, luck left the trio in the cabin of the liazka. The Czechs fell from second place to the final fourth place in the FIA World Cup in Cross Country Rally and in their competition premiere due to a technical fault.

First 110 kilometers and then a double portion. The participants of Sunday's Baja Aragon race had such a program in front of them. The KM Racing line-up was in a promising second place after Saturday, despite two punctures, but Sunday's performance ended prematurely for them.

"It didn't look bad at the start, but after one mistake we dropped to third place. In a passage where we were fast on Saturday and where I was confident, I wanted to accelerate and get back to second place. Unfortunately, our technique did not hold up, we struggled with the damping of the car. We tried to drive it for a while, but then decided not to risk our health and further damage to the car and preferred to go back to the bivouac. We gained some time there, which pushed us to fourth position," said truck driver Liaz Martin Macík .

Kazakhstan's Artur Ardavičus became the Baja Aragon winner ahead of Spain's Pep Vila Roka and Netherlands' Ton van Gerugten. Fourth place is not bad at all for the team from Sedlčany in the competition premiere, but the young crew appreciates the fact that they thoroughly tested the car and themselves.

"Now we know where we stand, what we can afford and what we are capable of. It was a great training for me. We know where we can improve, and the knowledge from Spain will be very useful for us in August at the next race, which will be the Hungarian Baja," continued Macík. "In a way, it's good that the technical problem has appeared now and we can calmly analyze and eliminate it, rather than if it met us at a bigger competition," added the pilot.
