After the first leak of the official photos of the Pro_cee'd GT model, the Korean car manufacturer Kia actually had nothing to hide anymore, and that's why it published more pictures and official technical details on the Internet yesterday. For the time being, a three-door and a five-door hatchback will carry the GT designation, while a sharp station wagon is being considered.
Both planned cars could have been designed by none other than chief designer Peter Schreyer . The revealed Pro_cee'd GT , later Cee'd GT , will offer an aggressive body kit, a set of 18-inch alloy wheels, LED daytime running lights, red brake calipers and Recaro sports seats in the interior.
Under the hood will be a turbocharged four-cylinder 1.6 GDI with a power of 205 hp and a torque of 265 Nm. Power will be transmitted to the front wheels through a six-speed manual transmission. Acceleration to 100 takes place in 7.9 seconds . In the editorial office, we are happy that Kia is also heading into the hot-hatch segment. However, we think that it will not be enough to compete with such a power unit. That's why we hope that they will also find out in the car factory and later we will see a more powerful engine.
The Pro_cee'd GT will go on sale in the UK in mid-2013, with the five-door model coming later in the year. Both body variants will be produced in Žilina, Slovakia. The premiere is scheduled for this year's Geneva Motor Show .
