Kia is preparing several new models

For the first time, Kia more significantly impressed the European audience in 2006 , when it presented the first generation of the groundbreaking Cee'd model . Then things moved quickly – models such as Rio, Sportage, Optima and the new Carens helped the carmaker to restore the trust of customers. But now Kia is aiming even higher…

Specifically to the large coupe segment. The GT concept from the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show , which many of you will surely remember, will serve as the basis. At that time it was still a four-door coupe, but the body will be changed for series production. Technically, the GT could be based on sister Hyundai's Genesis coupe , which would mean rear-wheel drive. Benny Oeyen , vice president of Kia's European division, said: "The GT is close to being approved and then going into production, but as with any of our models, a financial plan has to be put in place to build and sell it."

However, in addition to the GT, the Korean automaker is also considering another car. Provo hatchback , which premieres in conceptual form at the ongoing Geneva Motor Show. It should be placed alongside other cars in the B segment – Rio, Venga and the new Soul, and should become the most stylish and boldest model in the automaker's offer. The platform of the existing Rio could serve as a basis. Regarding this model, Benny Oeyen said: "Our brand is thinking rationally, but there is definitely room for a coupe in the B segment. We will now conduct market research to see if such a car is even financially viable."
