Kia Picanto received a decent facelift

Visitors to the Frankfurt Motor Show will have a lot of eyes on the LPG-powered Picanto , but in Korea they are already enjoying the modernized version . Don't be misled by the name Morning , which will change to the classic Picanto when it arrives in Europe.

At first glance, you can distinguish the models of the year 2013 a 2014 quite easily. The newcomer has a new front bumper , different fog lamps and a larger radiator grille, which does not lack the shape of a "tiger's nose" . LEDs have settled into the front reflectors.

The interior is made of better materials and offers a new, color display of the multimedia system . The instrument panel is also new, and the silver line running across the entire width of the dashboard has been replaced by a line in glossy black.

In Korea, the Picanto will receive improved safety equipment. It now includes 7 airbags (including the driver's knee), the Cornering Brake Control system, adjustable seat belts and a parking brake alarm.

Under the hood of the Korean specification sits an 82-horsepower liter gasoline engine that works with a five-speed manual transmission. It can be replaced by a four-speed automatic on request. New for the 2014 model year is the Eco-Plus version , which has power reduced to 80 horsepower and a CVT automatic.

The basic price of the modernized Picant for the Korean market is 9.93 million won (approx. 172,000 CZK).
