Kia is about to enter the B-segment

The Korean car manufacturer Kia is gradually raising its prestige with new models that it wants to compete with premium brands. However, she herself acknowledged that she still has a long way to go to great success. Kia has lacked models with sporty ambitions, so it will present two hot-hatchesPro_cee'd GT and Cee'd GT at the Geneva Motor Show .

In addition to the mentioned two models, a hybrid concept named Provo will also be presented at the stand of the Korean brand in Geneva, which is supposed to be the harbinger of a new entrant to the B-segment. The official press release states the following: "Our little Kia should become a kind of twin of the Hyundai Veloster in production form".

Under the hood of the concept study is a turbocharged four-cylinder 1.6 T-GDI engine with an output of 205 hp (power transmitted to the front axle). Also connected to this power unit is a 45 hp electric motor that drives the rear wheels, giving the car more power when needed or offering emission-free engine operation for short intervals (e.g. city driving). A seven-speed DCT transmission is connected to the engine.

The new Kia Provo Hybrid Concept has great technical details, but above all a breathtaking design. If the concept goes into mass production in an almost original design, the competition should beware.
