The Japanese magazine brought the first picture with the new Mazda3

The Japanese brand Mazda finally got out of the red after five years. The biggest merit for this is the SkyActiv technology used and partly also the dazzling design of KODO . The first swallow was the CX-5 crossover , followed by the flagship Mazda 6 in sedan and station wagon variants. Now many fans are waiting to see what the new generation Mazda 3 will look like.

A leaked image that has been circulating on the internet for a few days thanks to a Japanese magazine could perhaps tell us that. As expected, the next generation of the compact hatchback will share SkyActiv technology and, of course, look similar to its 6 and CX-5 siblings. In the attached image, we can notice, for example, a prominent mask or more muscular fenders. On the contrary, the rear is no longer as eccentric as the front, it dazzles more or less only with the dual exhaust system.

It is likely that the new Mazda 3 will be built on a modified CX-5 platform, which will result in less weight and lower fuel consumption. The engine range has not yet been confirmed, but a gasoline 2.0 -liter four-cylinder with a capacity of 155 horsepower could appear in the engine compartment of the new "three" on the American market. There is also speculation that a 2.5-liter engine intended for the Mazda 3 MPS could also be on offer, but it is not official.

However, we have no idea if the leaked image really shows the new generation Mazda 3, it could also be a very cool illustration . Most likely, we will have to wait until the end of this year, when the new Mazda 3 could be presented at some auto show.
