Iveco has revealed more of the new generation Daily model

After a short first introduction and three simple photos, Iveco comes with a detailed presentation of the third generation of the popular Daily model . Its variability is breathtaking when you can combine up to 8000 different variants !

The design of the new Daily is not complicated, but easily recognizable . So Ivec has succeeded perfectly in what it proclaims in the press release – a unique design and its own personality. You can see it especially in the front part, which is dominated by the radiator grille connected to the main headlights and the large logo of the car company. The interior is designed to best meet the requirements of the driver and his crew . Therefore, the ergonomics have been improved and the noise penetrating the cabin from the wheels has been reduced . Completely new is the steering wheel, the instrument panel, the seats or the center panel, on which the touchscreen of the Iveconnect multimedia system , which includes radio, navigation or a rear parking camera, can appear. There are a total of 15 storage areas , 5 of which are lockable, and 3 drink holders.

The chassis also underwent a change, which retained the frame structure, but in versions up to 3.5 tons (single rear axle) received a new Quad-Leaf front suspension , which increased the maximum permissible load to 1900 kg and the permissible load capacity of the chassis with the cabin by 40 kg . The rear suspension has also undergone changes in these versions, thanks to which the Daily is now 55 mm closer to the road and makes loading easier. Versions with a double rear axle also received a new suspension, in their case called Quad-Tor , which has a maximum permissible load of 2.5 tons (2.1 tons for versions up to 5 tons). All versions of the Iveca Daily are based on ESP and the LDSW system , which warns of lane departure.

Under the hood of the new Daily, we find diesel engines with a volume of 2.3 liters with an output of 106 hp (270 Nm), 126 hp (320 Nm) and 146 hp (350 Nm) or with a volume of 3.0 liters with an output of 146 hp (350 Nm), 170 hp ( 430 Nm) and 205 hp (470 Nm) with twin turbos. These engines meet the Euro5b+ emission standard. There are also engines that meet the Euro 6 standard – a three-liter diesel with 146 hp (350 Nm) and 170 hp (400 Nm), respectively a three-liter with CNG combustion with an output of 136 hp (350 Nm). There are several versions of the six-speed manual and the six -speed Agile automatic transmission with the option of sequential shifting.

What makes a utility vehicle a utility vehicle is primarily the variability of the versions offered . Three basic body types are available for the Daily – a van, a chassis for various superstructures and a minibus. The van is available with three wheelbases of 3000, 3520 and 4100 mm, with the two longest versions available with a short or long rear overhang. There are three body heights – 1545, 1900 and 2100 mm, its total length is between 5040 – 7500 mm. The cargo area has a volume from 7 m 3 to 19.6 m 3 , a length from 2600 mm to 5100 mm and a load capacity of up to 4 tons. The total weight of the tub is between 3.3 and 7 tons. The chassis is available with wheelbases from 3000 mm to 4750 mm , while the maximum length is up to 6190 mm. The total weight ranges from 3.3 to 7 tons, just like the bathtub, but the load capacity is up to 4700 kg. The trailer behind the vehicle can weigh up to 3.5 tons.

The minibus is somewhat different compared to the commercial versions, because the specialized subsidiary brand Iveco Bus participated in its development. The latter set the goal above all of first-class safety, so all minibuses are equipped with ESP and a lane departure warning system. A lower position of the driver's seat together with a smaller steering wheel should ensure better handling. There are four versions of minibus offers based on the Daily. Line is the most versatile version, used for intercity trips or as a school bus. It carries up to 22 people + driver and passenger and is available in three lengths, two types of side doors and also in a version with a wheelchair ramp. Tourys is aimed at tourists and offers a variety of luxury features such as LED lighting or individually vented air conditioning. Citys is the opposite of Tourys and is especially suitable for urban traffic. There are double center doors and a rear door with a wheelchair ramp, as well as a CNG version. The latest version, exclusively available in Italy, is the Pop , which is a school bus with a capacity of 45 seats for primary schools and 32 seats for secondary schools and the option to run on CNG.

Another special version is the Daily Camper , which is the basis for camper vans or even motorhomes. The main advantage is high travel comfort , good controllability and ergonomics of the interior, already based on the basic Daily model. The list of additional equipment includes, for example, radio control and hands-free on the steering wheel or the already mentioned multimedia system with navigation, a seven-inch touchscreen and a rear parking camera. The rear axle can be equipped with air suspension with electronic weight distribution control to optimize vibrations and noise penetrating the cabin. Gross weight ranges from 3.5 to 7.2 tonnes and the Camper is available with a single or double rear axle. There are four power units with three gearboxes to choose from.
