An interesting situation has arisen at the luxury division of Nissan, the Infiniti brand. Although the all- new Q50 sedan has been introduced, its predecessor, the G37 , will remain in production and available to customers. How is it possible?
Infiniti spokesperson Kyle Bazemore spoke to Autoblog.com and confirmed that the G37 sedan will remain in the lineup. However, since the new Q50 is about CZK 12,000 cheaper in the US, a significant reduction in the price of the older G37 can be expected.
But why does the car remain on offer? The new Q50 will be available from the start of sales exclusively with a six-cylinder and a hybrid unit , so the predecessor G37 will remain on the market as an entry model for customers in the given segment. This is intended to protect the position of the more modern Q50 until it is fully established on the market and a stripped-down four-cylinder and basic diesel enters the model range.
The situation on the Czech market is somewhat different, as the Q50 will be offered here with a diesel engine and a hybrid drive from the start. The G37 will probably disappear from the offer here. However, the older model will remain available in the US until at least the end of the year.
