The Shelby 1000 will be presented in New York

Basically, the Ford Mustang is no longer a cute pony that everyone can tame. He must be treated as an untamed thoroughbred and treated accordingly. But how do you treat a car that the legendary Shelby took to show off and which has an incredible output of up to 820 kW (1115 hp)?

This limited edition produced under the baton of Shelby, based on the GT500 version, will go on sale later this year in two performance versions. The "weaker" reaches a maximum output of 708 kW (963 hp) and the stronger one then the already mentioned 1115 hp.

In both cases, the drive is provided by a 5.4-liter eight-cylinder fork with a giant compressor, new connecting rods, crankshaft and pistons. The intake, cooling and the entire exhaust pipe were also modified. And in order to handle this mammoth portion of performance at all, the car is fitted with 6-piston brake calipers at the front and four-piston brake calipers at the rear. There are stronger struts, stabilizers, a stiffer chassis and 9-inch wide tires.

We should not forget the equally impressive exterior enriched by a front splitter, a new hood and a rear diffuser. And the price?

The weaker Street-legal version will cost less than 150 thousand dollars, the stronger track S/C version will cost 150 thousand. This is quite a decent price for a model that is not afraid of even the fastest super sports. What do you say?
