The new electric car GM Sail Springo EV was presented in China

The American concern GM , the owner of Opel and Chevrolet , among others, unveiled a small electric car for the Chinese people yesterday in Canton , China. It has its basis in the popular Sail model and is produced in cooperation with the SAIC car manufacturer.

The design of the model is based on the hatchback Sail , which is specially produced for China under the Chevrolet brand. Even at first glance, the close relationship with the European Ave is visible. But to come to the changes in the design – they are more cosmetic, so expect details such as a more environmentally friendly radiator grille or ornaments emphasizing the car's electric drive.

After all, this is the most interesting part of the entire model. The electric motor has a "clean" power of 116 hp and a torque of 220 Nm . It reaches 100 km/h in 10.4 seconds and the speedometer needle attacks a maximum value of 130 km/h. The 22 kWh battery can be charged from a 220V socket in 7 hours , after which you can drive a maximum of 150 km with this "charged" model.

The price of the model in China is set at 258,000 yuan (approx. 817,000 CZK), but thanks to state subsidies (the government – 54,000 yuan and individual regions up to 100,000 yuan), the price of the model can be reduced to 104,000 yuan (approx. 329,000 CZK). Production of the Sail Springo EV model takes place in a joint venture between GM and SAIC.
