Hyundai showed the latest upgrade of the Sonata sedan

The current generation of the Hyundai Sonata has the last year of its life ahead of it. It will be joined by a mid-class sedan with a minor modernization , which aims to keep the current model in the minds of customers for another year.

The exterior received a new front fascia, xenon headlights , a redesigned rear with LEDs in the taillights and a new design of 17- or 18-inch alloy wheels. The A and B pillars are equipped with a larger amount of foam , which reduces vibrations and noise penetrating the cabin. The interior offers higher quality materials, modified carpets with better sound insulation and, above all, richer equipment .

All models have stabilization and Driver Selectable Steering Mode fitted as standard from the new model year, the SE and Limited trim levels have a new leather steering wheel, an LCD screen on the instrument panel and a 4.3-inch touchscreen radio including a rear parking camera in the list of standard equipment. In the list of additional equipment , you can find navigation with an eight-inch screen (SE and Limited versions) or blind spot monitoring (SE, standard for Limited).

Two engines remain under the hood – the atmospheric four-cylinder 2.4 GDI Theta II series with a capacity of 193 hp in combination with a six-speed automatic or a turbocharged four-cylinder 2.0 GDI Theta II series with a capacity of 278 hp in combination with a six-speed automatic. The base price rose by $155 (approx. CZK 3,000) to $21,350 (approx. CZK 404,000).
