Hyundai presented a new seat of the upper middle class

You may remember the April premiere of the Hyundai AG , which, according to the reports at the time, was supposed to be placed in the luxury segment alongside the BMW 7 Series or the Mercedes S Class. But in the end, everything is a little different – the AG name has been replaced by Aslan , and the ambitions to threaten the 7 Series are now the ambitions to threaten a smaller series 5.

The 4.97 meter long and 1.87 meter wide sedan impresses Hyundai with its unusually sleek and conservative design . The chrome front fascia is complemented by LED daytime running lights, LED fog lights and LED rear lights. The profile of the car is very interesting, which at first glance is interchangeable with the larger Genesis.

The Genesis resembles Aslan inside as well, be it the materials used or the level of equipment . Behind the four-spoke steering wheel we find a digital instrument panel, on the central panel a multimedia system with navigation, real-time information and a parking camera is removed. Safety is monitored by a lane departure warning system, adaptive cruise control , a frontal collision warning system, an automatic call to the security forces if necessary, or a parking assistant with a 360-degree camera view. The icing on the cake is the Lexicon audio and head up display.

Under the hood we find two GDI six-cylinder engines, the weaker three- liter has 270 hp , the stronger 3.3-liter has 294 hp , in combination with front-wheel drive and automatic transmission. The base price was set at 39,900,000 won (approx. 825,000 crowns), Hyundai's goal is to sell 2,000 units per month.
