Honda Ridgeline – The successor will finally be!

Despite previous speculation , Honda is preparing the second generation of its American Ridgeline pick-up. It released a press release with the first information and one image showing the side outline of the car.

Developed and manufactured in the USA, the Ridgeline model should have gone down in history some time ago without a successor. However, Honda recently unveiled a new version of the current generation and has now said that the model will be in production until the middle of next year. Although the automaker is talking about good sales that are up this year, the Ridgeline pickup still lags dramatically behind competition from Ford , Dodge , Toyota , Chevrolet and others.

The current generation (photo in the gallery) is a unique model in its category, which has a self-supporting body , independently suspended all wheels and front axle drive. The result is good on-road handling, which, combined with an interesting design and a comfortable interior, won the 2006 Motor Trend magazine Truck of the Year and 2006 North American Truck of the Year awards .

The press release informing about the second generation does not mention any detailed data, but informs that the model will remain a unique car . We can see more from the released image with the profile silhouette of the second generation Ridgeline . This suggests that the pick-up will get more classic shapes compared to the current version.

Even the second generation Honda Ridgeline will be designed and manufactured directly in the USA. We will find out more information a little later and the car will be presented in about two years .
