Honda has revealed the final form of the European HR-V SUV

The Honda HR-V was recognized by Japanese customers under the name Vezel already at the end of 2013. It was shown in Europe as a prototype for the first time last year at the Paris Motor Show , but we will only be able to test it for real only in Geneva.

It probably doesn't make much sense to disassemble the design of an already disassembled model. That's why it's only fitting to briefly mention the camouflaged rear door handles , making the SUV's profile remotely close to a dynamic coupe. When viewed from the front, however, the robustness of a classic SUV stands out, although we will not get all-wheel drive. Only front-wheel drive will be available, in combination with a 130-horsepower i-VTEC petrol engine or a 120-horsepower i-DTEC diesel engine. Both engines are mated to a six-speed manual transmission, but a continuously variable CVT can be obtained for an additional fee. In addition to the low center of gravity, the driving characteristics will also be improved by the rigidity of the body, made of 27% high-strength steel.

According to Honda, the interior should combine the advantages of the MPV and SUV world . Thanks to the fuel tank installed under the front seats, the Japanese automaker was able to use the rear seats to fold completely flat (60:40 split) using the Magic Seats system . It works in several modes, and in addition to the rear seats, the passenger seat can also be folded down. The trunk itself has a basic volume of 453 liters, but after folding the rear seats it increases to 1026 liters.

The driver's workplace is determined by high-quality materials with a softened surface and chrome or shiny black decor. As with other models of the brand, here too the speedometer changes color from white to green, which is intended to inform the driver about the economy of his driving . The shaping of the dashboard is quite atypical in today's world, mainly due to the strip of ventilation outlets in front of the passenger. The center console is slightly turned towards the driver, in the higher Sport and Excutive versions, the seven-inch display of the Honda Connect multimedia system with the Android 4.0.4 operating system is "enthroned" on it. In addition to the vehicle's operating data, it displays the screen of a mobile phone, audio system control or an application downloaded via the Honda App interface using the MirrorLink function. Today, a wireless WiFi connection is a matter of course, Garmin navigation is available for an additional fee. The basic Comfort equipment also has a touch screen, but with a size of only five inches and without most of the functions mentioned above. An interesting feature of the Executive line is the tilting and sliding panoramic roof with a blind against the sun.

From the second trim level, a package of safety technologies is available, including an intelligent speed system, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, a traffic sign recognition system and a system for switching high and low beams. An anti-collision system is already available from the lowest equipment line. All these systems using data from the front radar and cameras, located in front and behind.
