Honda presents the sporty Jade RS

When Honda came out with the Jade six-seat hybrid station wagon in February, few would have looked for any sporting ambitions behind the bulging bodywork. However, the engineers of the Japanese car company took Jade to the show and the result of their efforts is the RS model with a turbocharged fifteen-cylinder VTEC.

New to Honda's lineup, it produces 150 horsepower at 5,500 rpm and 203 Nm of torque, the curve of which is available between 1,600 and 5,500 rpm. Although the values are not dizzying, with a sporty chassis setting , stiffer suspension (15 percent at the front, 20 percent at the rear) and the Agile Handling Assist system, the practical station wagon can be unexpectedly fun. Perhaps only the CVT automatic transmission with the possibility of manual shifting of seven preset stages raises questions.

In terms of appearance, you can recognize the RS by the new radiator grille with a honeycomb structure (if the Honda Sensing safety assistant kit is equipped, then the grille is complemented by a black chrome strip), the lines between the rear lights and the outer handles made of dark chrome, a discreet body kit and 17- inch alloy wheels . The seats are upholstered with a combination of fabric and Prime Smooth material, the steering wheel has a leather ring for a change. The sporty atmosphere is provided by the red stitching and the specific design of the pedals. On the other hand, the choice between brown or black interior color is not very sporty.

Sales of the Honda Jade RS will start next week at a starting price of 2,530,000 yen (approx. 513,000 crowns).
