Honda is heading into retro territory. Introducing the mini N-ONE

Retro is in vogue. You can buy retro radios, watches, dresses or shirts. Recently, the sale of retro cars has also taken off on a large scale, i.e. models that stand on modern chassis groups, but with their appearance and details refer to one of their famous predecessors. The Honda N-ONE also took such a path.

The design of the model clearly refers to the first mass-produced small Honda , the N360 model. The first distinguishing feature is definitely the shape of the entire body. Another unmistakable reference are the circular lights, which also in the N-ONE blend into one unit with the radiator grille. In the rear part of the car, the original rectangular lights remained, but the smaller ones have already disappeared… The stylishness of the model is enhanced by the option of two-tone body painting. Additionally, the Premium version will offer a different grille from the normal model.

The interior is exactly in the style of today's small cars from Japan . Great use of interior space is important. The space around the driver is once again dominated by, I would say, ingenious simplicity. The automatic transmission lever is perfectly at hand and you will find only a minimum of buttons on the entire center console. Alarm clocks remained classically analog.

Under the hood, there will be one engine with a volume of 0.66 liters , which will be either turbocharged or naturally aspirated. However, Honda has not yet published the exact data. However, the N-ONE will be offered with both two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive!

The model's price tag is set lower than that of the rival Fiat 500 . The latter starts at ¥1,990,000 in Japan, while the N-ONE is "only" at ¥1,150,000. To translate it into Czech figures – the 500 starts at about 484,000 CZK and the N-ONE at about 280,000 CZK . But the big price difference is caused by imports from Europe.

I left a question for the end. Will Honda bring the stylish N-ONE to the Czech Republic and Europe in general? I would say no and I think it's a shame. According to the first photos and information, the N-ONE looks more than promising and could definitely overwhelm the established competition in the mini car category…
