Holden will offer a sporty version of the Barina hatchback

In Europe , we are still waiting for it in vain, in Australia they will see it before the end of the year. We are talking about the sporty version of the Chevrolet Aveo , which was supposed to be called the RS in Europe. For rivals, the Aveo RS will be sold as the Holden Barina RS .

Both models are based on the American Sonic RS , which has been racing on the roads for some time now. The design of all three models is almost identical and contains only slightly modified bumpers, a larger rear spoiler and above all seventeen-inch wheels. Even in the interior, it's more or less the same song – sports seats and a sporty flattened steering wheel.

The only difference is the chassis and steering settings. Holden reportedly worked a lot on this and prepared a modified electronic power steering for the Barina RS, which better meets the conditions of the local roads. For the time being, the press release is silent about the engine, but following the example of the American Sonic RS, a turbocharged 14- liter engine with 140 hp and 200 Nm of torque should appear under the hood.

Sales will start in November this year.
