The new Citroën C1 is also heading to Geneva

After the Peugeot 108 , the second of the Cologne triplets – the Citroën C1 – was revealed in its full glory. Compared to Peugeot, however, it does not look like a hacked 308 and offers a very novel design , following on from the new C4 Picasso or C4 Cactus.

We in the editorial office somehow agreed that from the front the new C1 looks like an angry bulldog just about to attack. This is mainly due to the lights, consisting of two segments – a narrow strip of lights that refers to the C4 Picasso, and oval reflectors. In addition, the bumper is equipped with LEDs for daytime running lights , so the road lighting will be more than decent. The rear part offers a fifth door in the form of a hinged window, similar to the outgoing model. As with the Peugeot 108, the C1 will also have a choice of three- and five-door bodies and two types of roof – classic sheet metal and retractable fabric for the Airscape version (dimensions 800 mm x 760 mm).

Following the example of the Fiat 500 , the possibility of individualization will be wide. Citroën offers 8 body colors (Caldéra Black, Gallium Grey, Carlinite Grey, Olive Brown, Smalt Blue, Scarlet Red, Sunrise Red and Lipizan White) in combination with two shades of metal and three shades (Sunrise Red, Black and Grey) of the canvas roof . The wheel covers will have a size of 14 and 15 inches, and the cast wheels will be fifteen inches. The interior, which we can't find in the photos yet, will also be very colorful – the door panels will be the same color as the bodywork and the control of the seven-inch Touch Driver Interface multimedia system , the fan strips and the gear lever head will also have a different color treatment.

The platform and all dimensions are shared by the C1 with the 108 – this means a length of 3460 mm , a width of 1620 mm and a height of 1450 mm. The luggage compartment can hold 196 liters of luggage in the basic configuration, after folding the seats, the volume increases to 780 liters. With a weight of 840 kg and a turning radius of 4.8 m, the Citroën offers very good maneuverability in city traffic.

Two three-cylinder gasoline engines will appear under the hood – the 68-horsepower e-VTi 68 Airdream liter unit is originally from Toyota and is available with both a five-speed manual and an ETG piloted gearbox. The more powerful VTi 82 has a power of 82 hp, a torque of 118 Nm and an average of 4.3 l/100 km. CO2 emissions are just under 100 g/km, acceleration takes 11 seconds.
