Renault presents the successor to the Espac in Frankfurt

The Frankfurt Motor Show has opened its doors and one new product after another is presented. The biggest one at the stand of the French brand Renault is undoubtedly the Initiale Paris concept, which is a kind of premonition of the successor to the current Espace model.

If you take a good look at the attached photos and video, you will find that the newly revealed concept is much more interesting and elegant compared to the current generation Espace minivan. An unmissable part of the car is the significantly sloping roofline and a set of 22-inch alloy wheels . At the front, LED headlights with integrated diodes for daytime running lights cannot be noticed, while the rear lights are positioned in relation to the horizontal and vertical lines of the model. Although the Renault Initiale Paris has similar dimensions to the Grand Espace, it weighs 250 kg less .

The Initiale Paris concept measures 4.85 meters in length and offers a four-seater cabin, while in series form we will most likely see a 5+2 seating arrangement . After opening the side hinged doors, we can see the Bose audio system with 32 speakers and two subwoofers. The center console boasts a dual screen displaying information about the immediate surroundings. The floor will offer a combination of aluminum and wood. The bench in the third row is made of independent mobile parts , which means that it can be folded down at any time or made into two separate seats.

In the engine compartment of the stylish concept is said to be a four-cylinder dCi 130 with a torque of 400 Nm. The automaker claims that the new power unit is 25% more economical than other diesels with similar power. In addition, there are two turbochargers under the hood. The first, smaller, switches on at low speeds and the second, larger, on the contrary, at higher speeds. The unit is connected to a six-speed EDC automatic transmission, which offers shifting with a shift-by-wire function, adopted from Formula 1.
