Ford revealed the final look of the new Ka

The era of classic three-door minicars is probably over for good. First, the third generation Twingo was born , and now the new Ford Ka has met the same fate. In addition, it is not yet certain whether the traditional name will reach Europe at all .

Compared to the second generation, the newcomer is slightly larger – it is 3.89 meters long , 1.52 meters high and 1.92 meters wide (including mirrors). The wheelbase is a solid 2.49 meters, and the luggage compartment holds 257 liters . In terms of design, the five-door hatchback is similar to the latest models of the brand , mainly thanks to the hexagonal radiator grille and the shape of the front headlights. In addition, the small Ka+ sedan will arrive next year, which, like the hatchback, will have its Indian sibling named Figo . The only difference will be that the Indian derivative of the sedan will measure under 4 meters, thus placing it in the price-advantaged group of cars.

The interior is a kind of variant on the last generation Fiesta . It can be seen mainly on the center panel, where we find a large number of buttons and where the SYNC multimedia system is located in higher versions. And speaking of equipment – the entry level will be equipped with air conditioning, electric front windows, radio with Bluetooth and USB connectivity, front airbags, central locking, power steering or ABS. Higher equipment has the aforementioned SYNC multimedia system, alloy wheels, fog lights, stability control or hill start assistant.

From the start, there is only one engine under the hood – a one -liter three-cylinder Flex gasoline engine with a power of up to 85 hp and a torque of 107 Nm, which is connected to a five-speed manual transmission and front-wheel drive. With the Ka+ sedan, a more powerful 15-liter petrol engine with gasoline or ethanol combustion will arrive next year, and with the Indian Fig, we will see a diesel engine again.
