Ford has published the first price of the new Transit Connect

Ford announced today that the new Transit Connect utility model , which will go on sale later this year, will have the lowest fuel consumption in its class. Compared to the current model, these values have improved by 34 percent !

The Transit Connect ECOnetic is powered by a 70 kW 1.6 Duratorq diesel engine and will represent an opportunity for businesses across Europe to significantly reduce operating costs. The combined consumption of the Transit Connect ECOnetic compact delivery version is only 4.0 l/100 km , which corresponds to CO2 emissions of 105 g/km. These values were achieved thanks to a comprehensive set of Ford fuel-saving technologies, from the Stop-Start system to regenerative braking and an active radiator grille. A four percent longer permanent gear and speed limiter also contribute to more economical operation.

At the same time, the new Transit Connect will become the first van of the Ford brand to allow customers to choose the highly economical 1.0 EcoBoost petrol engine . He is already a two-time winner of the prestigious professional poll "International Engine of the Year" . In the Transit Connect, it will have a combined consumption of 5.6 l/100 km and its CO2 emissions will reach 129 g/km.

"Delivery operators are always looking for new ways to reduce costs, and the new Transit Connect represents a huge step forward where costs tend to be highest – at service stations," said Stephen Lesh , Ford of Europe's Transit Connect Program Lead Engineer.

However, Ford's energy-saving technologies are also available for other, "ordinary" variants of the new Transit Connect, as part of an economical package that includes the Stop-Start system, an active radiator grille and intelligent regenerative charging. The set will be delivered as standard for the 1.0 EcoBoost engine and as an option for the 1.6 Duratorq in both 55 and 70 kW variants. All versions feature Ford's improved electric power steering as standard, which also contributes to lower fuel consumption.
