Ford has updated the Super Duty line

While the competition from Chevrolet and GMC comes with completely new generations of their pickups , Ford can only make do with modernizations of the F model series . Most recently, the Super Duty versions received changes.

Probably the biggest new feature is the modified 6.7 Power Stroke diesel eight-cylinder , which has been on offer since 2011. The unit enters the new model year with a larger GT37 turbocharger in place of the older GT32, a new high-pressure fuel pump, new fuel injectors and a turbine enlarged to 72.5 mm, giving the exhaust gases more room to spin the turbocharger, providing extra power. Engine power should increase compared to its predecessor, which offered 405 horsepower. However, the blue oval did not say how much.

Other changes made by Ford include a polymer coating of the main bearings, which will improve life and provide lower friction, a revised crankshaft , five-ply head gaskets, and an upgraded 6R140 TorqShift six-speed transmission with a new torque converter.

The F-450 Super Duty model gets a reinforced frame and suspension, 19.5-inch wheels, specific tuning of the new diesel and chassis, and most importantly, it can tow a heavier trailer. All F Series Super Duty models will be offered in a special King Ranch edition , which is intended to refer primarily to American farms. Among the most significant changes are the Mesa leather interior upholstery, the "running W" logo that appears on the headrests and wheel covers. For a change, these, together with the bumpers, are painted in a darker shade of Caribou.
