Ford Ka Concept – Instead of a practical style car

Despite previous speculations, we will see the third generation of the small Ford Ka after all. The latter was a market disappointment , so it is not surprising that the manufacturer decided to send its successor in a completely different direction . An expensive style book for Europe becomes practical for the whole world.

Update 11/13/2013: The photo gallery now has better quality official pictures.

The current Ford Ka is based on the Fiat 500 and, together with it, is also produced in Poland. The new generation will detach from this connection and become a more practically oriented car . This corresponds to five doors, previous generations of the Ka model were always exclusively three-door.

The third-generation Ka concept was introduced in Brazil, and except perhaps for the front headlights, this is its production form. It uses the Ford Figo platform, which in turn took its structural basis from the fifth-generation Fiesta .

According to the first information, one gasoline engine from the EcoBoost family will get under the hood, while some sources say that it will be a liter three-cylinder without a turbo. A 1.5-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder with the ability to burn ethanol may also appear in Brazil. Diesel units should be replaced by a four-cylinder Duratorq with a volume of 1.5 or 1.6 liters.

Production of the third-generation Ford Ka will begin in the middle of next year, and the first market will be Brazil. For the time being, nothing official is known about the import to Europe, or the date has not been confirmed. But it is generally expected that we will see the new Ka in 2015 at the latest.
