We have known the shape of the new Ford Mustang , which will officially make its first appearance in Europe , for several months already, and Ford also managed to visit most of the world's major motor shows with it. However, it wasn't until mid-July that he served us specific data on individual engines and information about the Performance Pack.
The weakest unit under the hood of the American muscle car will be an atmospheric six-cylinder with a volume of 3.7 liters with a power of 303 hp and a torque of 379 Nm. The weight of the Mustang V6 Coupé is 1,599 kg with the six-speed manual, and 1,601 kg with the automatic. The middle engine is a 2.3-liter four-cylinder EcoBoost with a turbocharger with an output of 314 horsepower and a torque of 433 Nm. In the case of the manual, the Mustang EcoBoost Coupé will show a weight of 1602 kg. The highlight of the offer is the Mustang GT with a five-liter Coyote eight-cylinder engine with an output of 441 horsepower and a torque of 541 Nm. With the manual, the GT Coupé weighs 1680.5 kg, with the automatic 11 kg more.
In addition to the engines, the optional Performance Pack , available for the Mustang EcoBoost and Mustang GT, is certainly interesting. For both models, this means a sportier chassis setup with different springs or single-shell rear shock absorbers, better cooling for more endurance on the racetrack, and different settings for stability control, electronic power steering and ABS.
For the Mustang EcoBoost , Ford added a 3.55:1 fixed gear ratio, a revised braking system with four-piston calipers and 352mm front and 330mm rear discs, respectively, and new 19-inch Ebony Black wheels with Pirelli tires. The Mustang GT features strut bars, a new front splitter, wider 19-inch wheels, a revised 3.73:1 permanent gear ratio, a Torsen limited-slip differential , and six-piston Brembo brakes with 380mm front and 330mm rear discs.
The Mustang is already available on the American market and its six-cylinder prices start at $24,425 for the coupe version (approx. 495,000 crowns).
