Ford also unveiled a three-seater variant of the Ka hatchback

Ford recently introduced the third generation of the Ka model to the Brazilian market, which for the first time in history received five doors. Just shortly after the hatchback, the blue oval also presented the second body version of the latest mini (or now rather a small car), the three-compartment sedan Ka+ .

In terms of design, the sedan is very similar to the hatchback, with one exception – the stepped rear section , which Ford managed to graft onto the hatchback with grace. Thanks to it, the sedan stretched to 4.25 meters and has a wheelbase of 2.49 meters. Although 445 liters can fit in the trunk, competition like the Chevrolet Prisma can hold 55 liters more.

As we have already reported in an earlier article, along with the Ka+ sedan, there is also a more powerful Flex 15-cylinder gasoline engine, with the combustion of gasoline or ethanol, with a power of up to 111 horsepower. This complements the one -liter three-cylinder Flex with the same choice of fuel, which has a power of up to 85 hp and a torque of 107 Nm. Both engines are equipped with front-wheel drive and a five-speed manual transmission .

As in the case of the hatchback, the sedan also gets air conditioning, electric front windows, Bluetooth and USB connectivity, frontal airbags , central locking, power steering or ABS as standard equipment . Higher equipment also has, for example, the SYNC multimedia system, alloy wheels, fog lights, stability control or hill start assistant. The price in Brazil starts at 37,980 reais (approx. 347,000 crowns) and, unlike the hatchback, we are sure that it will reach other corners of the world. Next year, the Ka+ will be released as an Indian Ford Figo with a length of less than 4 meters and a diesel engine under the hood.
