Fiat is preparing five new models

Over the next two years, the Italian Fiat is planning to launch five new models . The main goal of this expansion is to return to profit in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (Fiat refers to these areas collectively as the EMEA region ).

This information was released in an interview with Corriere della Serra by Alfredo Altavilla , who is Fiat's top man for the EMEA region. The expansion of the offer should primarily concern four additional Fiat 500 derivatives and one new Fiat Panda derivative .

Altavilla said: “We are changing the DNA of the Fiat brand with a clear strategic goal – to enter the premium segment of the market. To achieve this goal, we are targeting two of our most successful model families: the 500 and the Panda.”

These two branches should ensure a return to profit already in 2015 . It has not yet been stated what new derivatives Fiat wants to attract. In the case of the 500, however, the arrival of the 500X crossover is almost certain, while in the case of the Panda, there is speculation about greater use of off-road elements , which would give the model greater competitiveness among larger SUV models.

In addition to the new Fiats, Altavilla also said that the Italian automaker will complete an important cooperation in Russia within a few weeks. Unfortunately, he was no longer specific.
