Fiat 500X – Ladybug for the terrain

Charismatic car company Fiat is planning to expand the 500 model range with a crossover variant. It will most likely be called the 500X and will thus become the fourth option to own a car with the legendary number on the back.

The 500X will use the platform of the recently introduced five-door version of the 500L , but will be extended to 4200 millimeters. Depending on the purpose of the car for lighter terrain, we can also expect a higher ground clearance.

The engine range will also be the same as the 500L . The basis is thus a two-cylinder TwinAir with a volume of 0.9 liters, followed by a four-cylinder with a volume of 1.4 liters. The diesel version is represented by the MultiJet II unit with a volume of 1.3 liters.

Production of the car will begin next December in Turin . The automaker expects an annual production of 280,000 units.
