Factory Five 818 – WRX STI conversion

The Subaru WRX was never one of the prettiest cars, but it was also never bought for looks. But Factory Five now wants to solve this problem, and really radically. You can have your WRX converted into a midengine, rear-wheel drive 818 roadster . The company has been preparing the launch of the car since 2011. Nouphone Bansasi was chosen as the car designer and the first cars were completed last year.

The name of the car symbolizes the weight of only 818 kg . You can have a conversion kit for a two-seater model S for around 200,000 crowns and you can drive it on the roads. Or you can pay an additional 20,000 and buy an R model , which is aimed at driving on circuits. It has a small wind shield instead of a windshield and a protective tubular frame. If you have the car modified, expect a roughly hundred thousand price increase. And of course, the price of the Subaru car that you supply to the company as a basis for the conversion cannot be neglected. For your money, however, you get a car that accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4 seconds.

Impreza WRX models from 2002 to 2007 or the current WRX model are suitable for conversion. The engine, axles, brakes, steering and complete drive system are used from the car. Factory Five will add a fiberglass body on a frame of its own construction , shock absorbers, lights, windshield and interior. It also offers a large selection of extras, such as carbon fiber elements to adjust weight and aerodynamics, better brakes and shock absorbers. You can have the car with left- or right-hand drive.
