In the Czech Republic , you can't officially buy a car with the Sonata name any Friday. Nevertheless, this car from Hyundai has not disappeared, but lives on in subsequent generations in the USA or Asia. The American version of the Hybrid Blue Drive has now received a slight upgrade.
This mainly affected the powertrain , which consists of an electric motor with a power of 47 hp and a gasoline engine with a volume of 2.4 liters with a power of 209 hp. The first major innovation is the increased capacity of the generator to 10.5 kWh. Furthermore, the power of the electric motor has increased (to the already mentioned 47 horses) and the lithium polymer batteries are lighter and are able to supply more energy to the electric motor. The combined consumption of the model decreased by 6%.
Other changes include modified throttle response, a modified clutch or an improved regenerative braking system. The new batteries result in an increase in the volume of the luggage compartment from 303 to 343 liters .
The revised Sonata Hybrid Blue Drive is already available at dealers these days, and compared to the previous version, you will pay $200 less for it (approx. CZK 4,000). Specifically, it is an amount from 25,650 dollars (approx. 496,000 CZK).
