Dodge is planning an eight-speed automatic for the new Challenger

The Dodge Challenger is nowhere near as successful as its competitors from Ford and Chevrolet , but it will see a new generation at the end of this year or the beginning of next year. It will not only be different in design, but above all it will offer advanced technical solutions .

One of them is the installation of an eight-speed automatic in conjunction with the basic 3.6-liter six-cylinder engine . It currently has 309 horsepower, but the next generation could get some extra horsepower. The new automatic is then supposed to ensure better consumption and slightly lower CO2 emissions.

If a six-cylinder is not enough, you can go for one of the eight-cylinder Hemi with a volume of 5.7 or 6.4 liters . Both will receive a few changes that will push the output from today's 379 hp for the 5.7 Hemi and 477 hp for the 6.4 Hemi, respectively.

The icing on the cake will be the version with the eight-cylinder 6.2 Hellcat , which will offer higher performance than the current SRT Viper. Insiders are talking about up to 710 horsepower . However, such performance will be bought with a price that will be around 70,000 dollars (approx. 1,395,000 CZK).
