Decided! The Evoque Cabrio has been given the green light and is going into production

At last year's Geneva exhibition center, the JLR community, Jaguar Land Rover if you like, presented a really unusual concept – a nice crossover Evoque in convertible design . The camp of visitors and experts was divided into two halves, one of which wanted to see the Evoque Cabrio on the roads and the other in no way.

A few months after its launch in Geneva, news circulated that the aforementioned Range Rover Evoque Cabrio would not make it into production, but according to current reports, it looks like the automaker has reconsidered its decision. The CEO of Land Rover recently confirmed that the Evoque Cabrio has been given the "green light" to go into series production starting in 2014.

The appearance of the production Evoque Cabrio has not yet been mentioned, but it is almost certain that it will be based on the already revealed three-door concept and the changes will be minimal. The engine palette will not surprise you, as the power units will be taken over from the classic model. Under the hood of the "open Evoque", we can find a 2.2 -liter diesel ED4 with 150 hp, a 2.2 -liter diesel SD4 with 190 hp, and last but not least, a 2.0 -liter four-cylinder gasoline engine with an output of 240 hp.

We have not yet learned the place and date of the world premiere, but we expect it to happen at the beginning of next year or maybe even earlier.
