Dacia and its plans for the future

Romanian Dacia has grown considerably since its "rebirth" in 2004 and today ranks among the best-selling brands in Europe. A strong model offensive is partly to blame for this, but it will end for a few months…

Since the beginning of 2012 , the following Dacias have arrived on the market – Lodgy, Dokker , Sandero , Sandero Stepway, Logan and Logan MCV . As you can see, quite a lot of models for a relatively small car company.

The head of the entire Renault, under which Dacia falls, Carlos Tavares said after the Geneva premiere of the Logan MCV station wagon that now is the time to stabilize the car company and strengthen the existing positions. Translated into more understandable language, we should not expect any new Dacia in the next 18 months . The question is whether this will also apply to facelifts (the SUV Duster is waiting for one).

But as announced by Tom Lane , Renault's head of product planning, Dacia is preparing a competitor to Volkswagen Up! and also a large sedan or liftback , which would threaten the current positions of the Skoda Octavia. At the same time, the price tag of a city car would not have to exceed 5,000 euros (approx. 128,000 CZK).
