Citroën will show the small Cactus crossover in Frankfurt

Urban crossovers are experiencing a boom, and after the Captur and 2008 Geneva models, we will see several similar cars in Frankfurt as well. However, it will mainly be concepts – Kia will show the Niro , Citroën will show the Cactus model.

It will be somewhat revolutionary. Airbumps panels took the main place on the bodywork. Simply put, these are body parts, made of soft and pliable material, which are equipped with air capsules, which mitigates the consequences of accidents or scratches in cities. In the case of the Cactus, they are located in the bumpers and on the sides of the body. Otherwise, the Cactus is based on the style that was established by the MPV C4 Picasso . Airiness is ensured by the absence of a central pillar of the body.

The interior, a 4210 mm long and 1750 mm wide concept, is designed to offer as much space as possible in a small space. For that reason, for example, the classic center console is missing (in its place is an eight-inch display) and the center tunnel. There is a two-seater bench for front and rear passengers, which is supposed to create the atmosphere of sitting on a comfortable couch . In front of the driver sits a seven-inch display replacing alarm clocks, the bright colors of the interior will delight, which make it visually larger and more user-friendly.

The future is also indicated by the drive unit. The French automaker used Hybrid Air technology , which combines a PureTech combustion engine, compressed air tanks and two engine hydraulic pumps. You can learn more about the technology in an older article . In the case of the Cactus, we only know the consumption from specific figures, which should drop to 3 l/100 km . Finally, I will add some information for those who would like to know how the Cactus will perform in the field – from a ground clearance of 210 mm, you can already get a certain picture…
