Citroën will present many new products in Frankfurt

The news of the French Citroën for the Frankfurt Motor Show has been known for some time. Nevertheless, in the end we will see a few minor surprises – the DS Wild Rubis concept will be presented in the European premiere, new power units will be added to the offer and the DS models will be even more luxurious.

The DS series has become quite successful during its time on the market, and many other manufacturers want to follow suit. Nevertheless, Citroën wants to maintain its uniqueness, which is certainly helped by the new Faubourg Addict trim level , which is based on the Numéro 9 concept. It will be applied to all existing DS models (DS3, DS3 Cabrio, DS4 and DS5) and will offer a unique purple paint Whisper (other shades will also be offered) combined with special DS logos on the roof and new mirrors. Wheels with an unspecified dimension offer a so-called diamond effect and body-colored centers. Faubourg Addict models will be available in selected markets from October this year.

Citroën is alive not only in appearance, however. That's why the new series of BlueHDi and PureTech drive units will be shown in Frankfurt. In the BlueHDi series , the first swallow will be a two-liter , which will appear in the MPV Grand C4 Picasso and the luxury model DS5. In the family MPV, the engine will have an output of 150 horsepower and in combination with a six-speed manual (six-speed automatic is also available) will emit only 110 g of CO 2 /km. The luxury hatchback will have a power of up to 180 hp , a torque of 400 Nm and in combination with a six-speed automatic will emit only 114 g of CO 2 /km. Both versions will meet the Euro 6 emission standard, which is mainly thanks to the selective catalytic reduction system.

For the time being, the PureTech range will only be represented by the e-THP 130 turbocharged petrol engine with an output of 130 hp at 5,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 230 Nm at 1,750 rpm. At the same time, CO 2 emissions will drop to 110 g/km. Citroën has not yet specified in which models this unit will appear. Like, for example, the e-HDi diesels, the e-THP has a start-stop system with a reverse alternator.

In addition to these three novelties, the French automaker will present the Cactus concept , the racing C-Elysée WTCC and the new generation MPV Grand C4 Picasso in the world premiere, and Europe will see the DS Wild Rubis concept SUV for the first time. At the stand, these novelties will be complemented by the new C4 Picasso and the DS3 Cabrio Racing concept .
