Citroën presented an extended version of the MPV C4 Picasso

Many have not yet recovered from the design shock brought by the second generation Citroën C4 Picasso, and here is another shock. This time it's the same model, just slightly stretched.

And specifically by 16 cm compared to its shorter sibling. Nevertheless, the new Grand C4 Picasso with a length of 4.59 m is the same length as its predecessor. Thanks to the EMP2 modular platform, however, Citroën was able to work on the wheelbase . It has stretched by 11 cm between generations and now has a value of 2.84 m, which is the most in the given segment. On the contrary, the front overhang of the body is the smallest in the MPV category – only 11.6 cm! The trunk has also increased – compared to its predecessor, it has a volume of 69 liters more, which means that in the configuration with two rows of seats you can load 645 liters of cargo in the back! By the way, you can load a total of seven people into the car ( configuration 2+3+2 ).

Visually, the new Grand C4 Picasso is at least as interesting as its shorter version. There are futuristic front lights or even rear 3D lights. But look for the difference here, as the design of the rear lights is different for the Grand version from the classic "short". An interesting design element is the gray line , stretching from the A-pillar to the fifth door. There are eight body colors and three sizes of alloy wheels.

Like the shorter version, the Grand C4 Picasso is based on the EMP2 modular platform and offers a much lighter body. Thanks to these modifications, the French automaker managed to save up to 100 kg compared to its predecessor, which is positively reflected in CO2 emissions and fuel consumption. For example, the version with the e-HDi 115 engine is 110 kg lighter than its comparable predecessor!

A similar range of engines will appear under the hood, as in the shorter version. However, the BlueHDi 150 unit, which has a power of 150 hp and produces only 110 g of CO2/km (117 g/km with automatic) is completely new. As you can imagine, the unit already meets the Euro 6 emission standard. Furthermore, the e-HDi 90 Airdream units (90 hp, 98 g CO2/km, 3.8 l/100 km) and e-HDi 115 (115 horsepower, 104 g CO2 km with dual-clutch automatic and 105 g with manual, 4 l/100 km). The range of transmissions includes three types – a classic six-speed manual available for all versions, an ETG6 transmission (the driver can switch from manual to automatic mode and vice versa) for e-HDi versions and a classic six-speed automatic for the BlueHDi engine.
