Citroën has prepared a very interesting sports sedan concept

At the end of last year, Citroën introduced the DS 5LS lower middle class sedan , which is, however, intended primarily for the Chinese market. Even so, it caught our eye in the editorial office, and I personally included it in the TOP news of 2013 . At the Beijing Motor Show, the sports version of the R will be premiered, which takes the character of the basic model one step further.

In fact, the most basic recipe was used for the production of a sports sedan – it must look good, have a powerful engine and a properly sporty chassis. They can successfully tick off the first item at Citroën – the decent body kit of the body in combination with the red Carmine Red paint , the gray matte stripe on the fenders and the 20-inch wheels in carbon shade works from almost every angle.

The interior was not put to shame either, when we find sports seats upholstered in a combination of aniline leather and Alcantara, real carbon decors on the steering wheel, center panel or door panels and dashboard upholstery in leather and Alcantara . Around the ventilation outlets we find a red frame in the same shade as the body and the omnipresent R logo , emphasizing the origin of the model.

Under the hood, we find a turbocharged 16-liter petrol engine with a power of 305 hp and a torque of 400 Nm, which works with a sequential gearbox with paddle shifters under the steering wheel. Compared to the serial model, the chassis is 15 mm closer to the road and the front axle has been widened. The chassis and brakes have been strengthened to better cope with the higher performance of the sports version.
