Chrysler Ypsilon is coming to the Japanese market

When the collaboration between Fiat and Chrysler began , there was utter consternation when Lancia introduced only rebadged Chryslers as its new models. Some time has passed and Lancia is doing relatively well . Now, however, Chrysler is also starting to benefit from the cooperation – a small Ypsilon with its logo on the hood is peeking into the Japanese market !

The design of the model is exactly the same as the European version, that is, except for the signs on the hood and trunk. However, the range of engines has been trimmed much more! In Japan, you can only buy the version with the 85 hp 0.9 TwinAir engine and DFN robotic transmission.

A preview of the price list will then offer a view of only two equipment levels – Oro and Platinum . Both versions will offer a stop & start system, ESP, automatic air conditioning, fog lights, six airbags or all electric windows. The higher Platinum version will offer, for example, bi-xenons, a rain sensor, cruise control or leather upholstery.

The prices of the model are not low at all – the basic version costs 2,350,000 yen (approx. 560,000 CZK) and the higher version Platinum even 2,600,000 yen (approx. 620,000 CZK). In relative comparison with other imported models, it is rather an average price.

However, much more interesting is the fact that through a Fiat dealership in Japan you can also buy an "original" with the Lancia logo . 89 of these were already sold this year, and the range of engines also includes the atmospheric unit 1.2 (69 hp) . However, the truth remains that the price is several tens of thousands higher – it starts at 2,900,000 yen (approx. 692,000 CZK). Anyway, it will certainly be interesting to observe the internal party cannibalism
