Chevrolet will show the updated Camaro in Frankfurt

The Frankfurt Motor Show will become the site of the official European premiere of the modernized Chevrolet Camaro . It will thus be presented alongside the long- known novelties of the American-Korean automaker.

Update 10/09/2013 – Added official photos of the European version of the coupe, additional photos of the convertible and the interior

The European Camaro is not significantly different from the American one that was shown in March of this year . We can therefore look forward to a completely new front and rear part, which is also more aerodynamic than before. According to the automaker, the new Camaro is thus more stable at higher speeds.

The interior of the new Camaro will be characterized primarily by the Chevrolet MyLink multimedia system , which in the basic configuration will offer a radio with USB, Bluetooth and Aux inputs, and for an additional fee, the MyLink function can be extended to include a navigation system. Recaro leather seats can now be ordered for the coupe version, and all variants will then receive standard keyless locking.

Under the hood of the European Camaro , unlike the American one, only the eight-cylinder 6.2 tuned to 432 hp and 569 Nm (data for manual transmission) will appear. A six-speed manual gearbox is standard, but an automatic gearbox with the same number of gears can be purchased for an additional fee. There are two body types to choose from – the coupe with manual accelerates to 100 km/h in 5.2 seconds, the cabriolet in the same configuration can do it in 5.4 seconds.
