Chevrolet Onix – Brought to Brazil

Chevrolet is very successful in Brazil . It is therefore not surprising that the local market is not only trying to supply imported models, but also its own models exclusively developed for the local market. One such is the small hatchback Onix , which is a kind of alternative to our Aveo model.

The model, which is aimed at the Volkswagen Gol and the Hyundai HB20 , offers design elements that are very close to the brand's global production. In practice, this means a two-part mask, which is divided by a partition with the brand logo or headlights, which were inspired by the larger Cruze model. One fact stands out from the profile – the model is "tilted" forward, so it looks as if it is constantly accelerating. In the rear, the Onix was inspired by the Corsa from Opel , at least it seems that way to me. Otherwise, the butt is simple, without any distracting elements.

The interior is very simple, but still modern. The question is what the interior will look like in the most basic equipment. In the photos, you can obviously see the highest variant with a large touch screen of the MyLink system and a digital speedometer, which is similar to the one in the Aveo.

A pair of engines appear under the hood. The weaker liter unit produces 78 horsepower (when burning gasoline) or 80 horsepower (when burning ethanol) and the more powerful fourteen-cylinder engine produces 98 horsepower (when burning gasoline) or 106 horses (when burning ethanol).

The base price of the model is not (thanks to Brazilian tax laws) the lowest for a European – in conversion, the car starts at 287,000 CZK .
