Chevrolet Malibu Turbo Performance – Pan effect

At this year's tuning car show SEMA in Las Vegas many modified models of world-famous brands will be presented. The domestic car manufacturer Chevrolet will also be present, which will show off, among other things, the modified Malibu Turbo Performance concept .

However, if you expect tarmac-tearing performance from the modified Malibu , as is the case with the European "sibling" Opel Insignia OPC , then I have to disappoint you right from the start. Chevrolet was given an interesting name, but it mainly refers to modifications to the chassis and exterior, the engine remained almost untouched.

Under the hood we find a two-liter six-cylinder with a power of 263 horsepower. Perhaps the only change that has taken place in the engine is the new CAI intake . This also ends the editing. Americans will not be able to enjoy the driving pleasure that Europeans know from the Opel Insignia OPC model.

What makes the Malibu Turbo special? Well, above all, it got impressive 20″ wheels shod in Pirelli P-Zero tires with dimensions of 255/35. It also received new bumpers, sill extensions and a spectacular Berlin Blue paint. An effective diffuser was added in the rear of the car. Inside, new Recaro sports seats appeared. They are upholstered in black leather, complemented by blue suede. This combination can also be found on the stitching on the steering wheel and door panels.

However, the best thing that has been modified on the car is the chassis. In addition to being reduced by a few millimeters, the latter received a HiPer Strut front suspension. New brakes with six-piston calipers and drilled discs help to achieve the best possible results in deceleration.

Whether it will be serial production or just a concept is not yet completely clear, but the modified Malibu could be a success for Americans.
