Chevrolet Malibu has undergone a really early modernization

When a car company works and subsequently presents a facelift of a given model not even a year after the official premiere, it means that something is wrong, more precisely, the public and the media have probably condemned the car. This is exactly what happened to the Chevrolet brand when it introduced the eighth generation of the Malibu model in the second half of 2012.

General Motors applied modernization features to the Malibu , which were designed to improve the exterior design, interior space, powertrains and platform. The 2014 Chevrolet Malibu builds on the strengths of the 2013 Malibu , but is refined to perfection for customers. The president of General Motors North America, Mark Reuss , stated, "The mid-size sedan segment is the most crowded of all, and we're a little nervous about the new Chevrolet Malibu".

The early facelift Malibu will offer a redesigned two-piece front fascia that is influenced by the latest Impala. The lower grille is more pronounced than before, and the upper one, after modification, is connected to the hood. The rear group lamps have changed their design. The front seats have also been revised due to improved knee room on the rear seats (+ 31.7 mm), which also have better materials. The center console has also been completely redesigned, including a new longer armrest with two holders for mobile phones.

Under the hood, there will still be a 2.5-liter four-cylinder Ecotec with a power of 198 hp and a torque of 253 Nm, which will have a Start/Stop system as standard, which will reduce fuel consumption by an estimated five percent. On the contrary, the two-liter in Malibu 2014 delivers 14% more torque than its predecessor, namely 400Nm and 262 horsepower. According to General Motors , the result is a stronger sense of acceleration from rest and a greater experience of power on demand in all driving conditions.

In addition to modernizations in the engine compartment, changes were also made to the chassis, namely shock absorbers, brake system, variable power steering and others. The improvements for the 2014 model year Malibu round out the blind spot monitoring and the monitoring of the space in front of the car. Pricing for the rejuvenated Malibu will be announced at a later date.
