The Caterham Seven Kobayashi Edition will be offered only in Japan

Different automakers interpret the term limited edition in their own way. But when it comes to small series production, we have the opportunity to buy a truly unique item. Most recently, Caterham ventured into the waters of limited editions, which will produce 10 cars of the Seven type in the Kamui Kobayashi Edition version. But this edition will only be sold in Japan for 6 million Yen (roughly CZK 1,200,000).

Unlike other editions bearing the famous name, here Kamui Kobayashi actually participated in the development of the car. This Caterham Seven is based on the Seven 250 R type. But it only has one seat, a Ford Sigma 1.6 engine, a six-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The car's power is 125 horsepower and it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds. The maximum speed is 196 km/h. The car is painted in gloss black with matte black stripes. The appearance is enlivened by green and carbon accessories. All cars will have the number 10 on the front, which Kobayashi also drives on his formula. An aluminum cover is mounted over the passenger seat. Behind the driver's seat is an asymmetric safety frame. Thirteen-inch wheels are also in black.

The instrument panel is carbon with green accents and features Kobayashi 's stylized signature. The sports seat is black with green stitching and again bears Kobayashi 's signature. The green four-point seat belts were supplied by Takata . The shifter head is also green and Kobayashi 's name is also on it. He is happy with the car and says it is a purist car that you actually drive instead of it driving you like other modern cars. According to him, driving the new Caterham Seven is much more fun than driving Formula 1, where you are watched over by a lot of electronic assistants.
