Caterham presented the weakest model in its range

Caterham teamed up with Suzuki to create its weakest open model to date. The Seven 165 is powered by a 0.66 liter turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine , making it the smallest engine ever used in a Seven.

You might think it's a marriage of convenience, but nothing is as it seems. Yes, the engine meets the Euro 5 emission standard , which is only good for Caterham, but at the same time, the British manufacturer promises the same fun as in the flagship Seven 485 . The small engine is mainly used in small Japanese and utomobiles of the kei class , which are very light and similar units quite "practice" with them. The Caterham is a little different with its weight, so it might not be a bad ride.

All the more so because the engine is tuned to 80 hp and 107 Nm , which is not the least at a weight of around half a ton. In addition, Caterham stuck to the idea that it was important to keep the weight down. That's why a three-cylinder got under the hood. A five-speed manual transmission takes care of power transmission to the wheels. By the way , the wheels are probably the best identification element of the basic "sevens".

Sales of the Caterham Seven 165 will start early next year, the price is estimated at 17,000 pounds (approx. 520,000 CZK).
